Welcome! Your family is an important part of the CMTM community -  a community of families who value playful, hands-on education in science and the visual and performing arts. We are committed to providing a safe, welcoming place for families with children to explore their world. 

Membership Benefits

Your membership puts you in the inner circle of what is happening at CMTM.

Benefits for all levels include:

  • Admission to CMTM.

  • 10% discount on workshops, classes, theatre tickets, and party rentals.

  • Member Magic Hours 9 am - 10 am Monday and Wednesday - Friday from September to May.

  • Reciprocal benefit discount to 200 children's museums nationwide.

  • Monthly insider emails and quarterly postcards.

  • Supporting CMTM and help families of all backgrounds access the Museum & Theatre.

Membership Add-Ons

Sponsor Another Family $130

Add $130 to any membership to support our scholarship membership fund. Funds allow other Maine families to visit CMTM. For more information about how to apply for a scholarship visit the Scholarships page or contact Lily Gilbert at lily@kitetails.org or 207-828-1234

Extra Membership Card $5

Membership Details and Processing

  • Members do not need their Member Card in hand for entry.

  • Please allow at least two weeks for membership card processing and mailing; please also note that memberships are active upon purchase, and members do not need their card in hand to book tickets.

  • Please note that memberships are not transferable.

Gifting Memberships

Memberships make a great gift! All membership purchase forms include the option of gifting the membership. (This process requires you to know the contact information for the gift recipient.)

If you do not know your gift recipient’s contact information, we suggest purchasing a gift certificate in the amount of the membership they would purchase.

Scholarship Memberships

CMTM is committed to ensuring admission and membership prices aren’t barriers to inclusion in our community. Scholarship memberships, daily admission passes, and theatre tickets are available through CMTM’s Community Fund. For more information, visit Scholarship Memberships.

Member Block Out Dates

There are days every year that are particularly popular with our entire community. In order to ensure that all visitors have a chance to visit on these special days and acknowledge that members often have increased flexibility on other dates, we have marked these times as member block-out dates’.

Special rates apply to members and visitors on the following dates:

  • Dino Egg Hunt

  • Halloween

  • New Year’s Eve

On these special dates, members are welcome to attend but will receive a 10% discount instead of their normal free admission. (Scholarship and All Access or Celebration Pass members can contact the Front Desk at 207-828-1234 or boxoffice@kitetails.org in advance of the date to reserve their complimentary tickets, pending availability.)
