Wilbur, a curious naked mole rat, discovers something unexpected—clothes! But in the Tunnel, no one has ever worn them before. As Wilbur dares to be different, he sets off on a hilarious, heartwarming journey that encourages everyone to embrace their own unique style.

Emma Hall plays Wilbur
Emma (she/they) is a recent Musical Theatre graduate from the University of Southern Maine. Emma has been performing in theatre since she was nine years old. She is excited to perform a story written by one of their favorite childhood authors. Some of her favorite roles include Little Red in Into the Woods, Emma Nolan in The Prom, and Beth March in Little Women (USM).
Lily Taylor is Actor B (Grande Mole Rat and H&M Singer 1) and Dance Captain
Lily is currently a Theatre major at the University of Southern Maine. She is thrilled to be making her CMTM debut! Recent credits include Clarissa/Ensemble, Little Women; Raelynn Nix, John Proctor is the Villain; Shelby, The Prom (USM). Enjoy the show!
Sean Sova is Actor C (Venti Mole Rat and H&M Singer 2)
Sean is so excited to be making his Maddy’s Theatre debut in this fun and rocking show! He graduated from the College of the Holy Cross ('22) with a degree in Theatre and is incredibly grateful for the welcoming arts community he's found here in Maine. Since making the move to Portland, he has performed as Warner Huntington III in Legally Blonde (Portland Players) and as a member of the Adult Ensemble in The Prom (Lyric Music Theater). During the day, he works at an elementary school, but after school he is the Drama Director at Cheverus High School and is a Teaching Artist at STAGES Youth Theatre. He is incredibly grateful for this opportunity to perform with CMTM and hopes everyone enjoys the show!
Joanna Clarke is Actor D (Tall Mole Rat and H&M Singer 3)
Joanna is excited to be back performing at Maddy’s Theatre. You may have seen her perform in Pete the Cat and Jurassic Jo’s Dino Show. She is a co-founder of Out There Theater Company in Portland, ME. You can also find her onstage or behind the scenes of many local theaters. She would like to thank Brie and Sam for inspiring her to get involved in theater for young audiences! And thank you for supporting the local arts!
Brie Roche is Actor E (Grand-Mah Mole Rat, Stark Naked, Naked Mole Rat 4, and H&M Singer 4)
Brie is a graduate of the University of Southern Maine's teaching and history undergraduate program. During her time there, she was recognized for her research in women's history and the history of those often forgotten. She is currently working toward her Masters of Science in Teaching English to MultiLingual Learners. You may have seen her with Jurassic Jo’s Dinos, performing their Educational “Dino Show” with her Cretaceous Crew. During the day, Brie works as an education specialist for The Osher Map Library and Smith Center for Cartography, teaching about historic maps and primary sources all around Maine. Brie’s educational and professional career has consistently revolved around making learning fun, accessible, and engaging. Brie's favorite clothing is her collection of overalls, including leopard print!
Maddy Vaillancourt is Actor F (Weather Mole Rat, Naked Mole Rat 5, H&M Singer 5, Potential Customer, and Secret Service)
Maddy is a rising senior Theatre Performance major at Wagner College, and is so pumped to be a part of this fire production!! She has been seen most recently in Wagner's productions of Firebringer as Zazzalil and Daughters of Leda as Phoebe. She also loves playing the cello around New York and Maine, and is an active member of the Wagner College Dance Club. She hopes you enjoy the show and rock on!
Lindz Amer - Understudy (Wilbur, Actor C & Actor D)
Lindz is an award-winning multi-hyphenate writer and performer best known for their LGBTQ+ family webseries Queer Kid Stuff! You might have caught them last summer as a Squirrelle in Elephant and Piggie, and they're thrilled to be back on stage at Maddy's Theatre. They are the author of the nonfiction parenting book Rainbow Parenting: Your Guide to Raising Queer Kids and Their Allies (St. Martin's Press) and their picture book Hooray for She, He, Ze, and They! What Are YOUR Pronouns Today? (Simon & Schuster). They worked with Nick Jr on the Webby award-winning Blues Clues & You “Pride Parade” music video, wrote for The Fabulous Show with Fay and Fluffy, and created the first nonbinary character in the Paw Patrol universe on the spin-off Rubble and Crew! Currently, you can find them performing their Singing Storytime program at the Children's Museum every Sunday and Monday. Check out their work at www.lindzamer.com
Danny Gay - Understudy (Actor B, Actor E, Actor F)
Danny is excited to be an understudy in the cast of Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed: The Rock Experience with Maddy's Theatre. This play is very fun and he hopes that you enjoy it. Danny is a teacher by day, and a theater maker by night. He works with the Monmouth Community Players Education Program, which he started in 2019. He is also the Artistic Director for MCP, and he is the current Technical Director and Lighting Chair at Community Little Theater in Auburn. Danny also sometimes works as an actor and designer at other theaters in the Portland area including Mad Horse Theatre Company and Maddy’s Theatre. This summer he also did the lighting design for Baby Shark. Some notable past performances with MCP include Black Stache in Peter and the Starcatcher, Sky Masterson in Guys and Dolls, and Gomez Addams in The Addams Family Musical. He hopes you all rock out with the naked mole rats today. Enjoy the show, and thank you for supporting local theater. His favorite piece of clothing is his Disney 50th Anniversary track jacket.
Danny Hutchins - Director
Danny is thrilled to be directing at the Children's Museum & Theatre of Maine for the first time! He is a Lecturer in Theatre at the University of Southern Maine Department of Theatre and teaches classes in musical theatre performance and business/legal issues in the performing arts, in addition to directing the yearly spring musical. Danny was born in Maine and recently moved back after living in Boston for over a decade. While in Boston, Danny was the Founder/Executive Producing Artistic Director of the Create. Inspire. Change. Theater Company, a professional theater whose mission was to bring theater to underserved students and families in the Boston area. He also served as the Director of Theater at The Performing Arts Connection, a large full-service performing arts studio in the Boston suburbs. Some previous directing credits include: Little Women, The Prom (University of Southern Maine), The Little Mermaid, The Wizard of Oz, Polkadots: The Cool Kids Musical (Create. Inspire. Change. Theater Company), RENT, Heathers: The Musical, bare: a pop opera (The Performing Arts Connection). Danny is a proud graduate of Walnut Hill School for the Arts (theater major), The Boston Conservatory at Berklee (Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theater with a Concentration in Directing), and Harvard University (Master's in Liberal Arts). Danny recently received his Juris Doctor from the University of Maine School of Law, and will be joining the Portland law firm Drummond Woodsum in the fall after passing the bar. Samantha Roche – Stage Manager
Samantha (she/her) is thrilled to be returning to the Maddy's Theatre team as stage manager, previously managing Morris Micklewhite and the Tangerine Dress, Beautiful Blackbird, Elephant & Piggie: We Are In A Play!, Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Musical, Charlotte’s Web, Go Dog Go, Gruff! An Epic Fairytale Eco-Musical, Three Little Kittens, Blueberries for Sal: The Musical, and A Year With Frog and Toad, and supporting Jack and Phil: Slayers of Giants Inc and Dragons Love Tacos. Other stage managing credits include White, The Addams Family Musical, Lend Me a Tenor, and Into the Woods. Outside the theater, Samantha works for Unum as a Technical Integration Specialist. She lives in Gorham with her husband and their dog and four cats.
Laura Gerry – Musical Director
Laura (she/her) is excited to be back at Maddy’s Theatre with another amazing Mo Willems show! Recent music direction credits include Elephant and Piggie and Pete the Cat (both at Maddy’s), as well as Charlotte’s Web at Royal River Community Players. With degrees in both Theatre Arts and Elementary Education, Laura has worked over the years as an actor, vocalist, director, teacher and mom to two (now adult) kids. Thanks for rockin’ out with us!
Vanessa Beyland – Choreography
Vanessa is a proud BFA graduate in Dance from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. She is a University of Southern Maine Theater and Dance faculty teaching artist in Jazz, Tap and Musical Theater, with numerous choreography credits at USM including Little Women and the Maine Premiere of The Prom. She danced with Portland Ballet Co. (2002-11) and teaches at Portland School of Ballet, and Casco Bay Movers where she is director of the PYD2 performing group. Local credits include Opera Maine (Assistant Director of Sweeney Todd, La Boheme, Aida, La Cenerentola), Maine State Music Theater, Dramatic Repertory Company, Snowlion Repertory Company, Good Theater, Lyric Music Theater, SchoolHouse Arts, Windham Center Stage, Stages Youth Theater and numerous high school and youth performing groups.
Emily M. Dixon – Production Manager & Scenic Design
Emily is thrilled to be starting the fifth season in Maddy's Theatre. Favorite recent credits include directing SpongeBob the Musical (2025, Lyric Music Theatre), light designing Elephant & Piggie (2024, CMTM), directing Gruff (2022, CMTM) and directing Dragons Love Tacos (2021, CMTM). Outside of her work with Maddy's Theatre, Emily loves to sing karaoke, write fiction novels, and spend time in the garden with her growing family.
Emily Kenny – Lighting Design
Emily (she/her) is very happy to be back at Maddy's theatre! She has previously designed for Morris Micklewhite and the Tangerine Dress, Winnie-the-Pooh, Knuffle Bunny, and Corduroy. Emily enjoys spending time with her 3 dogs, Tater, Fenrir, and Samus. Thank you for your support!
Kevin Hutchins – Costume Design
Kevin is thrilled to be returning to Maddy's Theatre for his 4th production! Kevin has been a costume designer in New England for over ten years. Kevin holds an MFA in Costume Design from Boston University (where he was awarded the Virgil C. Johnson Award for Excellence in Costume Design upon graduation) and a BFA in Musical Theatre Performance from The Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Kevin has designed for many theater companies, including The Ogunquit Playhouse, Maine State Music Theatre, The Public Theatre, Wheelock Family Theatre, Greater Boston Stage Company, and Boston Playwright's Theater, to name a few. Kevin has been nominated for 2 BroadwayWorld Maine Awards for Best Professional Costume Design for his work at The Public Theatre and Maddy's Theatre. Additionally, Kevin was a founding member of the CIC Theater Company in Boston, serving as the Production Manager and Resident Costume Designer for five years, bringing theater education to Boston's underserved youth.
Jamie David Henderson – Costume Design
Jamie is a second year Theatre Major at The University of Southern Maine. Since moving to Southern Maine, their largest costuming roles include Head Costume Draper for Little Women at USM and Costume Designer for Spongebob The Musical: Youth Edition at Gorham Performing Arts Center. Coming up for Jamie this summer is Into The Woods, Jack and The Beanstalk, and The Jungle Book all at Gorham Performing Arts Center.
Finn Schiebel – Props Design
Finn holds a BA in Technical Theatre and Design from the University of Southern Maine, with a concentration in prop and puppet design. Some of his previous roles include Props Designer for the Maine Playwright’s Festival, Assistant Scenic Designer and Props Designer for Little Women (USM), Props Designer and Set Dresser for The Birds (USM), Props Designer for Gianni Schicchi (USM), Props Designer for John Proctor is the Villain (USM), Props Designer for Red Riding Hood (Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine), Props Designer for the Maine premiere of The Prom (USM), and Props Assistant for Into The Woods (USM).
