Planning a Theatre visit with your school or recreation group to the Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine? We can’t wait to welcome you! Below, find information to help you plan your visit. Group Rates and Eligibility

  • Enjoy 50% off general Theatre ticket prices for groups.

  • Title 1A schools qualify for a special rate of $5 per ticket.

  • Staff working one-on-one with a student receive free admission.

Performance Schedule

  • Weekday performances typically start at 11 am.

  • Most shows in CMTM's Maddy's Theatre last about an hour without intermission (unless specified).

Group Size and Booking

  • Minimum group size: 15 (adults and children).

  • Theatre capacity: 89 seats.

  • Early booking is recommended, as capacity is limited and shows may fill up quickly.

  • For groups larger than 89 or if desired shows are nearing full capacity, booking across multiple performances may be necessary.

Booking Timeline

  • The entire season's shows are scheduled in advance and available for booking once announced. See the Season HERE.

  • If the available shows don't fit your schedule, explore our Theatre Tour (coming soon), or contact us at bookings@kitetails.org for potential private show bookings, subject to cast and crew availability.

Ticket Information

  • Theatre tickets grant access to the first-floor climber or playground up to half an hour before showtime.

  • Tickets do not include access to 2nd and 3rd-floor museum exhibits.

  • For a comprehensive experience, request a combined visit (theatre and exhibits) in your booking form's comments section.
