Casting Notice! Adult Actors for “Morris Micklewhite and the Tangerine Dress” - PAID OPPORTUNITY

Seeking Adult Actors to perform in “Morris Micklewhite and the Tangerine Dress.”

Help set the stage for all children to imagine and learn through play as an actor in a production at the Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine (CMTM)!

ABOUT THE PRODUCTION  

Directed by Ruthie Scarpino, rehearsals begin the week of February 24, 2025, with performances running April 5 -27, 2025.

This is an intergenerational production of adult and youth actors performing together for family audiences.

Actors work closely with the director, castmates, and the theatre team. Actors report directly to the Theatre Production Manager.

ROLES 

Adult Roles

MOIRA, AKA Mom: She makes really good pancakes.

MS. MELO: an elementary school teacher with a killer classroom, kind smile, and keen eye.

UNDERSTUDY: covering both tracks of Moira and Ms. Melo

CASTING INFORMATION

  • Pronouns and gender identity listed in this call are from the script but are flexible for our storytelling.

  • Actors will work closely with the director and ensemble to realize these characters and the worlds they live in through ensemble building, movement, puppetry, and collaboration.

COMPENSATION 

Actors are paid for rehearsal and performance time. This is a part-time, temporary position. $18.23/hour.

HOW TO AUDITION

Submission deadline is Friday, November 1, 2024.

  • You will be asked to confirm conflicts with the production calendar(s) and provide a performance resume at the audition.

  • Potential callbacks will be scheduled in-person November 2024.
