Science for Tots: Life of a Frog

  • The Children's Museum & Theatre of Maine 250 Thompsons Point Rd Portland, ME, 04102 United States (map)

The Big Night is near! Every spring in Maine, hundreds of thousands of amphibians such as frogs awaken to leave their underground homes in the pouring rain, to make the journey to vernal pools, known as Big Night. Learn about this unique amphibian migration by acting out the life cycle of a frog.

Science for Tots is a weekly gathering of families with children five and under to explore many aspects of science through an early childhood lens. Educators use play, drama, movement, and sensory investigations to explore topics from as small as microbes to as large as whales! Each interactive program could include science experiments, meeting live animals, and art making. These activities, carefully crafted for our youngest visitors, will have children intrigued, giggling, sharing, and engaged in playful learning. Come for one week or join together weekly to grow our community and future environmental stewards.
