Explore, create, and collaborate during this drop-in class for children 2-5 and their caregivers. Each week, experiment with the mediums and styles of both well-known and emerging artists. This Wednesday, we will focus on collage artist and storyteller Oge Mora, a featured illustrator in our Lunder Arts and Culture Gallery and creator of the children's book Thank You, Omu! We will work with cut-paper and glue to craft our own colorful creations. Please plan for a messy but fun morning; aprons will be provided. Beautiful Blackbird Children's Book Festival

The Children's Museum & Theatre of Maine is proud to partner with Indigo Arts Alliance (IAA), along with other statewide partners, for the 5th annual Beautiful Blackbird Children’s Book Festival, a celebration of children’s book authors and illustrators of the African Diaspora. CMTM will present an in-person schedule of literary and art activities for the whole family, including art-making workshops and read-alouds.

This year's festival is also the debut of "Beautiful Blackbird," a stage play for the very young, as a separately ticketed add-on to your visit! The Beautiful Blackbird Children’s Book Festival at CMTM is presented by M&T Bank. The event is also an official Dollar Day$ event.

Museum admission and theatre performances at CMTM will be $1 for every visitor, thanks to generous support from WEX, Inc.
