Science for Tots: Snowflakes

  • The Children's Museum & Theatre of Maine 250 Thompsons Point Rd Portland, ME, 04102 United States (map)

Look up in the snowy sky! Stick out your tongue! What do you feel? Snowflakes! Let’s explore how snowflakes are made by getting to know the person who first explored them – Wilson Bentley! We explore our very own Maine snow, and get to make our own unique snowflake designs to bring home.

Science for Tots is a weekly gathering of families with children five and under to explore many aspects of science through an early childhood lens. Educators use play, drama, movement, and sensory investigations to explore topics from as small as microbes to as large as whales! Each interactive program could include science experiments, meeting live animals, and art making. These activities, carefully crafted for our youngest visitors, will have children intrigued, giggling, sharing, and engaged in playful learning. Come for one week or join together weekly to grow our community and future environmental stewards.
