Celebrate World Honeybee Day

  • The Children's Museum & Theatre of Maine 250 Thompsons Point Rd Portland, ME, 04102 United States (map)

Celebrate World Honeybee Day at CMTM! Honeybees are essential and amazing pollinators. This special insect creates food that humans eat - honey! It takes over 2 million flower visits to create one pound of honey. That must be why honeybees can fly up to 15 mph! On World Honeybee Day, you are invited to build a honeybee during an open MakerSpace session with recycled & reclaimed materials. Design your pollinator to be little or fluffy, fast or funny. Or, explore the science of honeybees by playing a pollination game and learn how honeybees communicate through dancing!

World Honeybee Day is generously sponsored by Bissell Brothers.
