Michael Dix Thomas: Theatre Alumni Spotlight

Michael Dix Thomas Monologue from HENRY V

We are so excited to be connecting with past actors of the Children’s Theatre, finding ways for alumni to remember their time with the Children’s Theatre. Today we’d like to shine the spotlight on one of them- Michael Dix Thomas did several plays in the early 2000s and went on to study theatre at Emerson College and received an MFA in acting from the Shakespeare Theatre Company’s Academy for Classical Acting at George Washington University.

A few of Michael’s credits include: Timon of Athens at the Folger Shakespeare Library, Shear Madness at The Kennedy Center and Measure for Measure at Shakespeare & Company. Now he is an actor and a theatre educator, and just returned to New England.

I asked Michael to perform a monologue honoring our new theatre for me, an audience of one, in hopes of sharing it with the rest of you.  He chose to perform the Prologue of Henry V.  A great choice for inaugurating a new theatre space.

We went to the spot where he performed his second Children’s Theatre of Maine performance: King Lear in Deering Oaks Park.
