Visiting museums near and far? Use the ACM Reciprocal Network!
The Association of Children’s Museums (ACM) Reciprocal Network is a group of member museums open across the U.S. and Canada that reciprocate discounted admission to each other’s members. Members who have the ACM Reciprocal network benefit can receive half off regular admission for up to 6 people (one member named on the membership card must be present and show a photo id).
For example, if a family has a membership to the Boston Children’s Museum and their membership level comes with the ACM Reciprocal Network benefit, they can visit the Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine (CMTM) for half off regular admission for up to 6 people! Vice versa also works, so if you have added ACM reciprocity to your CMTM membership you can visit the Boston Children’s Museum - or any of the hundreds of other museums that are part of the ACM Reciprocal Network - for a discounted admission rate. You can find and search through the whole list at findachildrensmuseum.org/. Make sure to check the list as you travel around the United States and Canada!
ACM Reciprocal Network benefits on your Museum & Theatre Membership
When purchasing a CMTM membership, you can add the ACM Reciprocal Network for an additional $30 when checking out. Simply check the button that says “Reciprocity with the Association of Children's Museums” and it will be added to your membership. When you receive your member card, it will have the red ACM Reciprocal Network logo. Simply bring your member card and a photo id with you to receive the discount when visiting a participating ACM Reciprocal Network museum.
Adding On ACM Reciprocal Network benefits to existing CMTM Memberships
Are you already a CMTM Member, but not a member of the ACM Reciprocal Network? ACM benefits can be added to pre-existing CMTM Memberships by contacting the Member and Visitor Services Manager at (207) 828-1234 ext. 231.
Visit the Museum & Theatre with the ACM Reciprocal Network benefits
To use your ACM Reciprocal Network benefit when visiting the Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine, select the day and time when you want to visit at www.kitetails.org/plan-your-visit. Use the Discount: Paying at the Door ticket types and select the number of children and adults visiting. When you arrive for your visit, present your physical or digital membership with the visible red ACM Reciprocal Network logo along with a form of identification. Your group can receive half off regular admission up to 6 people and you will be asked to pay the remainder when checking in.
Please Note
Reciprocal admission benefits do extend to special exhibits. Reciprocal benefits do not extend to discounts for giftshop or café purchases, parking, museum special events, programs, summer camps, theatre shows, or birthday parties.
